I'm Henry The Ape, I Am
From Best of Our Beehive
|
I was 19 when this song came out in 1965 by Herman's Hermits. Never liked the song, but a friend of mind had a son of four who loved it. He thought it was a song about a gorilla - and did a superb gorilla impression, too!

I'm Henry The Eighth, I Am
Herman's Hermits
(Murray/Weston)
- written in 1911
- popularized in England by Harry Champion
I'm Henry the eighth I am
Henry the eighth I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before
And every one was an Henry (Henry)
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
Henry the eighth I am
Second verse same as the first
I'm Henry the eighth I am
Henry the eighth I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before
And every one was an Henry (Henry)
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
Henry the eighth I am
------ lead guitar ------
I'm Henry the eighth I am
Henry the eighth I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before
And every one was an Henry (Henry)
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
Henry the eighth I am
H-E-N-R-Y
Henry (Henry)
Henry (Henry)
Henry the eighth I am, I am
Henry the eighth I am
Yeah!
